Required software
The following programs are required by the company and are automatically installed on all new computers.
Security & management
These apps are meant to help safeguard important data, including the company’s own private data and our client’s private data.
- Crowdstrike - this is our endpoint protection program. It monitors your computer for malware and other suspicious activity.
- Cloudflare WARP - this is our Secure Web Gateway (SWG) program. It inspects network traffic and activity flowing through your device and blocks both dangerous content (malware, phishing, botnet activity) and content that is against company policy. It also serves as a connector for accessing certain apps or services.
- Self-Service - this works with our MDM to perform certain tasks and collect some information. This is where you’ll be able to install our recommended apps, so don’t try to uninstall it.
- 1Password - this is our company password manager. Many of the services we use have shared logins or use shared two-factor authentication. We also highly recommend that you store your own personal work-related passwords within 1Password.
- Privileges - this app lives in your dock and restricts the time that your account spends as an “administrator” to only while you really need it (in other words, it makes you an admin on-demand).
Communication and productivity
These apps are pretty much required for day-to-day work here. While you can uninstall them, we don’t recommend it.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Zoom
Required apps for analysts
These apps are pretty much required for day-to-day work if you are an analyst. Most of these apps are available within Self-Service for easy download.
