Computer specs

When we acquire new computers, we want to make sure that we acquire ones that make the most sense and will work for each person’s needs. Therefore, we have a list of specs that each computer should meet to make purchasing easier.

Standard issue Macs

Macs make up the majority of our computer fleet and are typically what you’ll be using. We typically issue users a MacBook Pro in one of two configurations.

MacBook Pro Config 1 - “The Analyst One”

  • 14-inch display
  • M4 Pro chip (14-core CPU, 20-core GPU)
  • 48 GB of unified memory (RAM)
  • 1TB of storage

MacBook Pro Config 2 - “The PM One”

  • 14-inch display
  • M4 Pro chip (10-core CPU, 10-core GPU)
  • 32 GB of unified memory (RAM)
  • 1TB of storage

If you’re being issued a replacement of an existing computer, you’ll be able to choose between Space Black and Silver. If you’re starting out, you’ll usually be issued a Space Black computer.

Note that both of these configurations are custom and require a special order from Apple. If for some reason you need to pick up a computer right away, we have a specification that’s readily available in most Apple Stores.

MacBook Pro Config 3 - “The Available One”

  • 14-inch display
  • M4 Max chip (14-core CPU, 32-core GPU)
  • 36 GB of unified memory (RAM)
  • 1TB of storage
